With the game getting closer, realistically what do you guys anticipate the level cap being? In game monsters currently max out at level 50, would that mean that ms2 would cap us at that level as well? Or do you think there's more room for other monsters that are higher leveled that nexon hasn't shown to us yet..
Previously a papulatus boss battle was posted and was recognized as a level 40 boss. Hmm.. as well level 40's were sent in to combat one of the toughest bosses in the game. It's just hard to predict what the level cap is going to be with a end game boss being at level 40 ya know?.. anyway with this in mind I predict that nexon is probably going to cap character levels around 50-60.. considering max monster cap currently is level 50 (in the shadow world and such)..
I would hope that when they release the game it's expanded from cbt and what not. I would hope that max level is atleast 70-80 with personally level 100 being ideal, giving more distinction among characters as well as adding difficulty and skills ... However with what we are given so far it's really hard to tell.
What do you guys think?
I honestly think they will keep the whole MS feel and have a level 200 cap. It will probably be more like pre-bb though where acheiving certain level brackets were rewarding. Whether they decide to cap the level off at 100 or 200 i just hope the rewarding aspect comes back. I don't mind if leveling is a bit easy just not too easy like it is currently in MS1. A mixture of pre-bb and post-bb with a 200 cap would be nice in my opinion. Keep in mind if they add good end game content then level cap really doesn't matter as much. What would matter is the end game. Which let's be honest MS1 has really no end game content in it other than cubing to 2m-2m and soloing Cvellum. Personally, ill be happy as long as the level aspect is rewarding and their will be true end game content.
I believe it'll be 100, but maybe not straight away. They might make it cap at 100 in a later update...
I'm thinking it might be 50 on release, we were only introduced to levels 30 and 35 in the tests, and then 40 in the resent festival event, so I don't think they'd want to make a huge level cap jump to something like 70-100. With that being said, I think they'll slowly add more content and bring the level cap up as the player base grows and more people start hitting the level 50 cap.
The fact that current end game bosses are around level 40 is an important factor to consider. If we were to go up to level 100, for example, how many bosses would have to be added to keep players satisfied? Would they perhaps level up the current bosses? Pre BB was mostly aimed at leveling, there were bosses for mostly all levels starting level 40, which is no longer the case in MS2. So now, 12 years later, would Nexon try a different style and aim to keep a low level cap and promote end game contents like Omniscient1 considered? I would likely think so.
Well they said that at release it'll be level 40 and then a month later it will be moved up to level 50. From what I've heard, so long as you're partied with a fairly sizeable group, it doesn't take all that long to level since you get full exp for just hitting mobs. And on top of that, recommended levels can be a little shady in MS2. The Kerning PQ says that it's recommended for a group of levels 21~25, but from what I've heard you really need to be 25+ to clear it in the 20 minutes.
Ultimately since I think leveling overall is slower, I don't think they'll be going too far past 100 for the first few years. I think Nexon wants MS2 to move away from the leveling-centric gameplay of MS1 in that regard. As for me, I don't really care what they set the cap to so long as there's real stuff to do along the way. That's the biggest issue with MS1, tbh.
Like diego said, it'll be 40 on release. The patch which increases the cap to level 50 and adds the higher level content will come out on August 2nd, but there's no announced plans for anything past that. Nexon seems to be taking the Dragon Nest approach with this game in terms of their leveling (and a whole lot of other things), so I wouldn't expect to see a massive increase in level cap ever. A 10 level increase at least once a year is likely.
If they're taking the dragon nest approach, everything end-gear equipment is going to be expensive at every cap and will be worthless once the cap increases.
i am gonna guess itll be 50 at first then 70 then 100 going up every few months
